Rest In Pieces- My Rage LP

Here is the classic Rest In Pieces 'My Rage' LP. This is fantastic NYHC, one of the best hardcore records ever, imo.
It has two guys from Straight Ahead in it, and while it doesn't rip off Straight Ahead, you can definately hear an influence.
There are eleven songs and all of them are 'hits'. The lyrics definately take a 'tongue in cheeck' approach to the lyrics, but they don't really go into the realm of silly at all. They are fun but have meaning behind them.
The music is not completely unlike Straight Ahead, but like I said, it really isn't a rip off. There are some monster mosh parts in here and the final song is all over the map, blazing away, until it ends in a giant clash of instruments, including a non cheesy solo that fits the music perfectly.
Check it out!
Besides this, there is a 7" that is nowhere near as good as this LP. There is a 2nd LP, called Under My Skin, which take a slightly metal turn, and despite a couple good songs, it is a pretty bad record. There are a couple demos as well. One of them is called 'The Nose Demo' and it is mostly songs that are on this LP and it is very good. The sound quality is like the LP but a little more raw. I will post that eventually as well.

Had this when it came out (& at import price!) & got rid of it almost immediately. That "tough-guy" hardcore just did not appeal to me at all.

I've been wanting this for a long time, thanks for posting this! I own a copy on cassette I got from some guy back in 1993; the sound quality is only so-so, and the end of the album is cut off. Couldn't find it to buy anywhere. I think it is one of the best 2nd-wave American Hardcore albums. It's really not "tough-guy" H.C. (listen to the pretty left-wing lyrics), but it does in some ways fall into the Youth Crew and/or Metalcore categories (manages not to stray far enough over into Metal to be Crossover).

I remember this album came with a lyric sheet. Can scan or post the lyrics? Thanks

the link seems to be dead....
anyway to repost it?
thanks
R.I.P's was one of the most underated bands during that time - I wish I could find the whole Hawker Records Live @ CB's record also - that had some of the better versions of songs by RIP and Token Entry

i always heard dubbed copies of this album. Was always so hard to find. When i came across a legit cassette copy in Quincy Records & Tapes around 94 i snatched it up immediately. It's such a great album!

I never saw it as a "tough guy" band at all. RIP were silly. Total tongue-in-cheek and all hardcore punk
